Home Health Care Service | Minneapolis

At Watchful Caregivers, we’re proud to offer a wide variety of services tailored to meet the health care needs of our clients. Our highly trained, professional staff members are dedicated to supporting your self sufficiency with a variety of helpful service offerings.

Initial In-Home Visit and Service Assessment

When you’re coming home from the hospital, it can be a relief to know that your doctor’s orders include home care. At the same time, you may be unsure about what you need to do to prepare for it, or even what to expect. During your first visit, one of our highly trained nurses will explain all the details of your plan of care, including which other Watchful Caregivers services and home health aides, are part of your home care team and how often you’ll see them. Our nurse will answer any questions you or your caregivers have and demonstrate any techniques necessary for your care, each you and your caregivers how to use any special equipment that’s part of your treatment. Depending on your needs, your first visit may last up to three hours.

Home Management / Companion Services

Our professional homemaker services include a wide variety of activities that promote your independence as well as promoting a healthy living environment in your home. This service is designed to enhance your home living experience and provide genuine comfort in the daily activity in and around your home. Tasks and responsibilities of the homemaker include transportation to appointments, medication reminders, meal preparation, clean-up, running errands, grocery shopping, companionship, mental, social, and recreation encouragement, light housekeeping, laundry, and more.

Personal Care Services

Personal care assistance services that assist a recipient in following a plan of health care designed to improve or delay deterioration of the recipient’s physical health while enabling that recipient to remain safely at home. Our diverse and highly-trained team of professional home health aides and personal care assistants are available to provide help with daily living activities, including:

  • Bathing & showering
  • Getting dressed
  • Oral hygiene
  • Toileting & changing pads
  • Preparation of special diets
  • Personal grooming
  • Other miscellaneous activities

Live-In Services

Our live-in services is perfectly suited to meet the needs of any client requiring 24 hour assistance. Services provided by our live-in staff will include all duties and responsibilities specified under our Home Management Service and Personal Care Service in addition to any task that promotes a healthy living environment and a healthy, active mind.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Meal preparation & special diet preparation
  • Clean-ups
  • Running errands
  • Grocery shopping
  • Companionship
  • Mental, social, and recreation encouragement
  • Light housekeeping
  • Laundry services

Asleep Overnight Service

This service is intended to serve clients who are not typically awake during the night, but appreciate having the assurance that someone is there and readily available to respond in the event of a medical emergency or accident that occurs during the late hours. Our night staff will also be available to provide assistance in any activity that enhances a healthy environment to ensure a smooth night of sleep.

Bathing Services Only

This core service is designed to provide comfort and care for individuals requiring assistance with bathing, including bath set-up, cleaning during the bath or shower, and applying lotion to promote your personal hygiene. Of course, our service also provides a caregiver to be available to respond promptly and professionally in the event of an accident during bathing.

Private Duty Nursing (RN & LPN)

Our attentive and compassionate team of nurses (RN and LPN) will routinely conduct periodic visits for health care assessment or to provide assistance with emerging health conditions that require medical attention or recommendations. We can also provide medication preparation including oral and topical medications, eyedrops and eardrops, injections, nebulizers, inhalants, and oxygen providing equipment. Other duties and responsibilities include nail trimming, oral cavity suctioning, and bowel supervision filling insulin syringes, interpreting blood sugar results and physician-ordered sliding scale dosages, and drawing up and/or mixing insulin for future injections, and maintaining ostomy and catheter hygiene care training for family members. With our nursing visitations and supervisions, you can trust that your loved one will receive the proper medical attention for any situation while in the comfort of their own home.

Waivered Services

Waiver programs help provide services to people who would otherwise be in an institution, nursing home, or hospital to receive long-term care in the community. Please contact us for more details of waiver programs and services we provide.
